I am a population and community ecologist, especially interested in understanding the roles of species interactions in the dynamics of populations. I have worked the most on the ecology of parasitoid wasps, and multitrophic interactions between plants, herbivorous insects and their parasitoids. I approach this through behavioral ecology, (meta)population ecology, population genetics, and chemical ecology. Before coming to IISc in Bangalore in late 2021, I worked for 20 years in the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Helsinki and in the Departments of Entomology and Ecology & Evolutionary Biology at Cornell University. Here is my CV. Here is a relatively recent (2023) article about my work.
